Update of travel info regarding fires in the dry season

This time of the year is the dry season in Brazil and large areas of the country, including the state of São Paulo, are currently suffering from multiple wildfires in forests and plains.

The season’s normally low humidity in combination with smoke from the fires has resulted in very poor air quality with high measures of pollution in the city of São Paulo. The local authorities therefore recommend the population to abstain from physical exercise and to drink plenty of water during the warmest hours of the day. No general advice to avoid travel to São Paulo has been issued.

We recommend all Swedish travelers in Brazil to stay informed about local developments of fire and air quality and to follow advice from the local authorities.
