Coordination number in Ghana

You can hand in required documents to request a coordination number via the Swedish Honorary Consulate in Accra to the Embassy of Sweden in Abuja for handling the case.

Coordination number for a Swedish child* born in Ghana

Please read the information below carefully before visiting the Honorary Consulate/Embassy.

Swedish children that are born outside of Sweden and have not been residing in Sweden must obtain a coordination number “Samordningsnummer” (Personal Identity Number), before a passport can be issued. The coordination number is issued by The Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket). It is the Embassy that request for the number to be issued. This is done when the parents wishes to apply for the first passport for the child.

The child must be presented to the Consulate in Accra or at the Embassy in Abuja together with, at least, one parent.

***
Step 1: Ensure all relevant documents are prepared for the visit.
Step 2: Book an appointment and visit the Consulate or the Embassy for application. The child and at least one parents to attend.
Step 3: Await notification from Skatteverket (Swedish Tax Agency) that the number is ready.
Step 4: When the coordination number is ready (takes about 6-10 weeks), make an appointment at the Embassy in Abuja to apply for an ordinary passport or the Consulate in Accra for a temporary passport.
