Please note that People with a coordination number (samordningsnummer) must count on a longer processing time (4-6 weeks after application) to get their passport, if the number has been declared dormant by the Swedish Tax Agency. Unfortunately, the embassy has no influence on the processing time. See more information at Skatteverket.se
Upon application, it usually takes two to four weeks before you can pick up your passport/ID-card at the embassy or a consulate. Don't forget to bring your old passport/ID-card when you pick up the new passport/ID-card.
The following ID-documents are accepted at the embassy for identification:
A relative, with an accepted ID-document (see question 3), can accompany you to the embassy to guarantee your identity. In that case you also need to bring your own passport picture.
If you are deregistered from Sweden and intend to marry at a foreign authority, you can apply for a marriage certificate at the embassy or a consulate.

When applying for a coordination number for children, the Swedish citizenship must be verified for at least one parent. The child and at least one parent must be present at the time of application.

The Embassy cannot assist private individuals with translations from / into Swedish. Translation agencies or court translators are to be contacted.

A provisional passport is issued directly upon application and is issued for a single journey to Sweden or the country of residence, but can in some cases be issued for a specific trip to another country, however, for a maximum of seven months. You must prove your need for a provisional passport by showing a ticket or a booking.
As the application procedure for a provisional passport is different from a regular passport, please contact the embassy for more information on how to apply for a provisional passport, +43 1 217 530.
You are responsible to ensure that the country you intend to visit accepts Swedish provisional passports. Please also keep in mind that your regular passport will be revoked, if it is still valid, when you apply for a provisional passport. Provisional passports issued by an embassy are in A4 format and are issued for a single trip home to Sweden or the country of residence, but can in some cases be issued for a specific trip to another country. The trip should be impending.
If you move to Slovakia you can use your Swedish driving licence until its validity period expires. Afterwards the Swedish driving license must be replaced by a driving license from Slovakia.
If you are registered in Sweden, but are temporarily located in Slovakia, you can renew your Swedish driving license and collect it at the embassy or a consulate. You can also order a form from the Swedish Transport Agency's customer service at +46 771-81 81 81.
The Swedish Transport Agency sends the new driving license to the embassy or consulate that you have written in your application. The embassy or consulate charges a fee when you pick up your driving license.
