The application process step by step:

1. Make sure you have a Swedish personal identity number or coordination number. Link to more information (in Swedish).

2. Book an appointment online: Link to online booking system.
   
   
3. Bring valid identification document: Link to information about valid identification documents. 
   
   
4. Fill in, print and sign this form: Link to the form "Information for Verification of your Swedish citizenship". NOTE! If you are applying on behalf of a child under the age of 18, this form must also be completed: Link to the form: Appendix to the application - Guardian Certificate" for child under 18.
   
   
5. Depending on where you live, you should also bring the following:

• If you live in the Netherlands, you should bring an extract from the Personal Records Database (BRP) from your municipality of residence showing your Swedish citizenship. Link to more information about the "BRP".

• If you live in Belgium, bring your residence permit card showing your Swedish citizenship.
• If you live in Germany, bring your “Meldebescheinigung” showing your Swedish citizenship.

    6. The fee for passport/ID card is paid on site, preferably by card. We accept VISA and MasterCard and Dutch payment cards. Link to fees.

Collect your passport or national identity card:

1. Once your passport/identity card has arrived at the Embassy, you will be notified by e-mail.
   
   
2. You can pick up your passport during opening hours: Link to the Embassy's opening hours.
   
   
3. Bring your old passport and an identification document with you.
