Fees

Most people have to pay a fee for their visa or residence permit application. Note that the money is not refunded if your application is rejected.

Fees for visits up to 90 days (Schengen visa applications)

  • Adults: EUR 90
  • Applicants the age 6 - 12: EUR 45
  • Applicants under the age of 6: No fee

The Embassy of Sweden in Beijing and the Consulate General of Sweden in Shanghai will charge the application fee in CNY. The application fee is tied to the euro and will be revised monthly according to the exchange rate.

VFS Global: In addition to the above fee, VFS Global Visa Application Centre charges a service fee for each application.

Fees for visits longer than 90 days

D-visa

  • Adults and applicants under the age of 18: EUR 60
  • Applicants under the age of 6: No fee

The Embassy of Sweden in Beijing and the Consulate General of Sweden in Shanghai will charge the application fee in CNY. The application fee is tied to the euro and will be revised monthly according to the exchange rate.

Visitor's Permit

  • Adults: SEK 1,500
  • Applicants under the age of 18: SEK 750

How to pay

If you apply via VFS Global, you pay in cash.

The Embassy of Sweden in Beijing and the Consulate General of Sweden in Shanghai will charge the application fee in CNY. The Embassy and the Consulate General only accepts payment by bank or credit card. Cash payment can only be accepted when card payment is not possible.

Application fees for residence permit applications for studies

  • Adults: SEK 1,500
  • Applicants under the age of 18: SEK 750

Fees for family members:

  • Adults: SEK 1,500
  • Applicants under the age of 18: SEK 750

Residence permit for highly qualified persons to look for work or start a business:

EU Blue Card, ICT Permit, seasonal work:

  • Application fee: SEK 2,000

For some occupations, special fees are required. These are: artists, au pairs, visiting researchers, athletes and coaches.

  • Application fee: SEK 1,500
