Appeals

If you are not satisfied with your decision, you can appeal it. The appeal must be in writing and arrive at the Embassy no later than three weeks after the date you received the decision.

The appeal shall state:

  • Which decision you wish to appeal.
  • How you want the decision to be changed.
  • Your name, date of birth, postal address, and telephone number.
  • Any circumstances or evidence/proof that you wish to add to your case.

If someone else signs the appeal on your behalf, that person must be authorised to represent you by a Power of attorney (migrationsverket.se). The power of attorney must be signed by you and submitted in the original together with your appeal.

Please send your appeal via e-mail to ambassaden.skopje-migration@gov.se or hand it in at the Embassy during our opening hours Monday-Thursday 09.00-11.00.

If the Embassy decides to change the decision, a visa will be issued, and you will be contacted within a week. If the Embassy does not change the decision, the case is forwarded to the Migration Court in Gothenburg, Sweden. The waiting times at the Migration Court are around 1-3 months. Contact information to the Migration Court in Gothenburg can be found here.
