This year most students going to Sweden will go through a mandatory interview and passport check in person at the Embassy.
The Embassy therefore strongly advise all students to apply for a residence permit for studies as early as possible. Please remember that the application must be complete. For more information about the requirements, please refer to Studying and researching in Sweden - Migrationsverket
The Swedish Migration Agency will review all cases and inform applicants when/if the Embassy can be contacted for an appointment. No appointments will be given at the Embassy before the Migration Agency´s review.
If you will be studying at a university or college, you can apply online. In that case, you attach the documents electronically.
If you apply on a paper form, you have to bring all the requisite documents to the embassy, together with the completed application form described below.
All forms can be found on the Swedish Migration Board's website.
