TIFF - SWEDISH STORIES

Tirana International Film Festival (TIFF), Oscar & European Film Awards qualifying, under artistic direction of Agron Domi, Founder & Festival Director will be held on 23 to 29 September. We are very pleased to participate this year with three Swedish films in the presence of director, Jens Sjögren and the main actor, Granit Rushiti for the film I Am Zlatan.

SWEDISH STORIES will be the title of the program with Swedish films.

Films will be shown at Kinema Millennium, Tirana.

The selected films are:

The Emigrants

 Original title: Utvandrarna (2021) • Target age group: 7 years or older • The story of Kristina Nilsson, a mother who leaves a poverty-stricken Sweden with her family in the 1850s and sets out on a long, dangerous journey, hoping to find a better life for herself and her children in America. Based on Vilhelm Moberg’s much-loved classic.

Director: Erik Poppe. Screenplay: Siv Rajendram Eliassen, Anna Bache-Wiig.

With: Lisa Carlehed, Gustaf Skarsgård, Tove Lo, Kerstin Lindén, Sofia Helin..

I am Zlatan

Original title: Jag är Zlatan • Target age group: 7 years or older •
A story depicting Zlatan Ibrahimovic's upbringing in a rough Swedish suburb. Born to Balkan immigrants, football was Zlatan's release in a tough environment where his remarkable talent and self-reliance catapulted him against all odds to the top of international football playing for clubs like Ajax Amsterdam, Juventus, Inter, Milan, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United.

Footnote: Based on the novel by David Lagercrantz. Granit Rushiti awarded the Swedish Guldbagge 2022 for Best Actor in main part.

Burn all my letters

Original title: Bränn alla mina brev • Target age group: 11 years or older •
Based on the 2018 best-selling book, the film spans 70 years and several generations. After a jealous argument with his wife, Alex realizes that he must get to the bottom of the issues that plague him to save his marriage. Through books and letters left behind from his maternal grandparents Alex discovers secrets about his family’s past that not only shed new light on his current situation, but also force him to revisit memories from his own childhood.
