Swedish companies talk sustainability in Albania.

A meeting between development and business in the first Business #2030 conference in Albania! On May 31st and June 1st the United Nations together with Embassy of Sweden organized the Business #2030 Conference in Tirana. Empowering Albanian companies for sustainable action, the event introduced traditional and innovative sustainability practises to Albanian companies.

Bringing together international businesses and leaders, policy makers and experts, the two-day conference brought together Albanian, Swedish, and international speakers to talk about innovations and sustainable practices by sharing knowledge, engaging with Albanian businesses with the potential of creating future partnerships and collaborations.

In an open and encouraging environment, Swedish companies and civil society organizations had an opportunity to build bridges with Albanian companies and promote sustainable trade.

In a creative environment, Swedish ambassador to Albania, Elsa Håstad, kicked off the conference with an inspiring speech talking about the importance of Swedish and Albanian business cooperation. The conference continued with leading Swedish companies such as Lindex and IKEA sharing their knowledge about sustainable production and working with the Inner Development Goals to reach the Sustainable Development Goals. There were also inspiring speakers from Swedish organizations such as WeEffect, Sweco, Axfoundation and designer and fashion activist Louise Xin.

The conference included important discussions about circular economy and on women leading the change in sustainable businesses in Albania.

People with ideas, insight and personal experiences shared their knowledge during the two days and the conference brought together committed innovative people to drive the business community in Albania towards achieving the UN Sustainable Goals.
