Memorandum of Understanding in regard to Sweden funded ArtNexus program was signed between the Swedish Arts Grants Committee and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia
On 05 April 2022, in an official online ceremony a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Director-General of Swedish Arts Grants Committee, Anna Söderbäck and Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia, Artur Martirosyan.
The MoU will apply to ArtNexus program which is aimed at creating synergies between cultural and development cooperation policy areas in Armenia. It intends to support art and culture practitioners and State actors in Armenia by fostering the exchanges between Sweden and Armenia in these areas.
It will also help address long-term systemic issues, including sector-related policies, that arts and culture professionals face in Armenia, including sector-related policies. The program aims at providing expertise, contributing to capacity-building and promoting dialogue between Armenian art and culture practitioners and State actors.
ArtNexus project will be designed in consultation with the Armenian art and culture practitioners and the Ministry in order to create demand-driven activities.
During the first year of the programme in Armenia, ArtNexus intends to offer capacity building workshops for art and culture practitioners and State actors in selected areas identified by the Armenian stakeholders. Before and after these workshops, ArtNexus also plans to facilitate two bridging meetings between art and culture practitioners and State actors in Yerevan to foster dialogue in a way that can be beneficial for both Parties and help strengthen national efforts in the art and culture sectors.
The Swedish Arts Grants Committee and ArtNexus will launch separate and joint dialogue and activities with Armenian art and culture practitioners and the Ministry. ArtNexus will adhere to the internationally recognized «Chatham House» principles during the meetings and workshops.
