'Paradise Lost - Daniel Solander's Legacy' Art Exhibition

To coincide with the 250th Anniversary of Cook’s first voyage to the Pacific, the Embassy of Sweden in Canberra, together with the Solander Gallery in Wellington, present ‘Paradise Lost – Daniel Solander’s Legacy’ – an art exhibition to commemorate the legacy of the Swedish botanist Daniel Solander and the first encounter between Sweden and the Pacific Region.

 

 

The exhibition ‘Paradise Lost’ consists of artwork by ten artists, selected to bring a unique vision to this historical event and Daniel Solander’s legacy.

‘Paradise Lost’ was launched at the Solander Gallery in Wellington on 8 February 2019 and is planned to tour New Zealand during 2019 and early 2020. In 2020, the exhibition will tour Australia, with a first stop in Canberra in April/May 2020.
