On 18 October, the Embassy arranged the study fair “Study In Sweden” together with the Swedish Institute and 13 Swedish universities. The study tour later continued to Shanghai and Guangzhou.
The event aimed to inspire Chinese students to choose Sweden as their study destination. The 390 attending student had the opportunity to ask questions to representatives from 13 universities, discuss student life, sustainability and Sweden with representatives from SWEA and speed date with Chinese alumni from the alumni organization SANC. The participants also had the opportunity to try mushroom picking in a Swedish forest and watch the Pride parade in Stockholm while wearing a VR headset.
Every year more than 600,000 Chinese students choose to study abroad. In Sweden Chinese students is the biggest student group and in 2018 2671 Chinese students applied to Swedish universities.
