Curfew with opportunity to buy food and medicines on foot and online

The state of emergency and curfew continue to apply throughout Jordan. Since 25 March, small shops have been allowed to stay open between 10am and 6pm. It is now also possible to renew visas and residence permits online.

Adults 16-60 years may walk during the day between 10:00 - 18:00 to smaller stores to buy food, medicine and other supplies. One requirement is to keep a distance from other people. In order to leave their homes for other reasons or at other times, special permission is required.

During the curfew, the Government of Jordan has made it possible to apply for and renew visas and residence permits via the Ministry of the Interior's website

Purchases can now also be made from larger grocery stores online with home delivery of the goods - see for example https://cozmo.jo or https://www.carrefourjordan.com/mafjor/en/. The Government has also launched an online platform (www.mouneh.jo) where the public can order online or call to receive goods from authorized companies throughout Jordan.

The regulations apply until Tuesday, March 31. Jordan's Government has said that small shops will continue to be open between 10am and 6pm as long as  shop owners and citizens follow the rules. Stores that charge exessive prices will be shut down.

Driving without a special permit is still prohibited. Violation can result in up to one year in prison or fines. Cars that do not have a permit will be confiscated.
