Digital Financial Services should be a tool to promote inclusive growth and poverty reduction with focus on rural women

On 28th May the Head of Development Cooperation, Mikael Elofsson, was a keynote speaker at the Digital Financial Services in Mozambique conference convened by the Financial Sector Deepening Moçambique (FSDMoç) programme funded by Sweden and the United Kingdom.

Sweden shared its approach on digital transformation and the important role that it plays in promoting inclusive growth and reduce poverty, particularly for women, by fostering better use of financial resources and better risk management in the household. In addition, Mr. Elofsson stated that digital financial services should also be an opportunity for increasing efficiency of the public services specially those delivered to the poor as to empower them.

Sweden supports FSDMoç with the aim of inspiring transformation in Mozambique, considering the challenges of digital literacy, digital security and digital infrastructure. Sweden's funds are a total of 40 million Swedish Krona.
