The Embassy of Sweden in Maputo is seeking for a programme administrator/assistant for the development cooperation section. If you are committed to development cooperation and administration, and have a solid experience as an administrator or administrative assistant, then this is something for you.
Sweden’s development cooperation with Mozambique aims to improve opportunities for people living in poverty to contribute to and benefit from an inclusive socioeconomic and democratic development.
The contract is for two years, with a possibility for extension. The position includes monitoring and follow-up of programmes and hence implies travels in Mozambique.
Work Tasks and responsibilities
- Takes part in the section’s quality assurance team.
- Responsible for monthly follow up of quality assurance including agreement conditions, audits, results assessments of partner organisations and financial follow-up of the portfolio.
- Registers data on contributions in online systems in Sweden and Mozambique and is responsible for archiving.
- Assists the Development Cooperation section in the different phases of the contribution management cycle as well as in the organisation of seminars, meetings and conferences.
- Assists in the Embassy’s external communication and event planning.
- Works integrated with other sections of the Embassy and performs other duties as necessary.
Required Skills and Experiences
- Documented academic degree in public administrator, economics, social sciences, or related field relevant for the position.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of documented work in administration in a public or private institution.
- Excellent administrative skills and documented experience in the usage of computers and office software packages, including Office, as well as web-based contribution management systems.
- Documented experience in budget analysis and follow-up.
- Unquestionable level of integrity and ethics and mature judgement and with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent written and spoken skills in English and Portuguese.
- Excellent organizational, self-leading and time management skills.
- Excellent team player, social, communication and problem-solving skills.
