Nordic-Ukrainian summit in Stockholm

On Friday 31 May, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson hosts a Nordic-Ukrainian summit with the President of Finland and the heads of government of Denmark, Norway and Iceland. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy takes part in the summit.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is in Sweden to take part in a Nordic-Ukrainian Summit hosted by Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson. In connection with the meeting, PM Kristersson and President Zelenskyy signed an agreement on bilateral security cooperation between Sweden and Ukraine. 

Mr Zelenskyy took part in the Summit with Mr Kristersson, Finland’s President Alexander Stubb, Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, Norway’s Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and Iceland’s Prime Minister Bjarni Benediktsson.

The leaders discussed the situation in Ukraine, its need for military support and how the Nordic countries best can support Ukraine’s defence against Russia’s war of aggression. The Nordic countries' support for Ukraine's path towards NATO and EU membership, respectively, was also discussed.

During the day, the Nordic leaders and Mr Zelenskyy will also hold bilateral talks.
