Call for applications: We Design Food for Tomorrow – 24 hour challenge in Skopje on 25-26 April

Do you dream of a sustainable food system for tomorrow? The Swedish Institute is launching the We Design Food for Tomorrow 2018, a 24-hour innovation challenge at Public Room in Skopje on April 25-26. Applications open until March 21 for Future change makers who are passionate about sustainable food systems and that are based in the Western Balkans or in Sweden.

How we eat can change the world. The way our food is produced, processed, distributed, consumed and wasted impacts sustainability both at local and global levels. There is huge potential for change through development of innovative solutions to a more sustainable food system. Food for Tomorrow is a platform that aims to increase your capacity to work with sustainable food systems locally and globally. The initiative aims to support regional collaboration in the Western Balkans and in Sweden and to create a network of change makers. By collaborating across borders the initiative results in new awareness, regional strongholds and co-operations, and to enable long-term and positive behavioural change.

During a 24-hour innovation challenge in Skopje on 25 - 26 April, the Swedish Institute will gather 25 change makers and innovators to develop and explore ideas, products or projects that aim to build a sustainable food system. The challenge in Skopje will be followed by 18 months of regional collaborations where eco systems of innovators collaborate to launch and implement their ideas and projects.
