Join us at a “Women’s Rights Night” on International Women’s Day!

The 8th of March marks the International Women’s Day, a day to celebrate and underline the importance of women’s rights all around the world. Join us at a “Women’s Rights Night” in Skopje at the Youth Cultural Centre (Kino Frosina) at 20.00 on the 8th of March. Entrance is free of charge.

The battle for gender equality has come a long way, but there is still much left to be done. The Embassy of Sweden in Skopje is therefore proud to take part in the 9th edition of the “Women’s Rights Nights”, organised by UN Women, City of Skopje and the Institute for Human Rights in Skopje. The Embassy will present the exhibition ”Pioneering a Feminist Foreign Policy”, consisting of portraits of Swedish women who have paved the way for women’s rights.

There will also be a small exhibition of Macedonian women activists and leaders, prepared by UN Women, under the name “Recognised vs. Invisible Women”.  You can also look forward to a Spanish documentary screening, a concert and a panel discussion on gender equality.
