Visa Liberalization for Kosovo starting from January 1, 2024.

Holders of biometric passports issued by Kosovo can now travel without a visa to the Schengen area for maximum of 90 days in a period of 180 days.

The exemption from the visa requirement does not grant an unconditional right of entry and stay in the Schengen area. Border authorities in each Member State have the right to refuse entry and stay. You may still be asked to present proof of sufficient means to cover your stay and return ticket et cetera at the border

If you stay longer than 90 days for a period of 180 days without the appropriate permit, you may be banned from entering the Schengen area for up to 5 years.

Even if your stay does not exceed 90 days, you may not, as a main rule, work during this period. Please visit the Swedish Migration Agency´s website for further information, www.migrationsverket.se
