Working for the OSCE

Persons who are interested in working for the OSCE have two possibilities, either to be seconded by the Folke Bernadotte Academy, or to apply for posts advertised directly by the OSCE.

The Folke Bernadotte Academy – seconds approximately 20 persons every year to serve within the OSCE. Those posts are advertised by the Folke Bernadotte Academy on its website and specifies the required qualifications. The Folke Bernadotte Academy only nominate candidates with Swedish nationality or Swedish permanent residence permit. Other nationalities are requested to contact the Foreign Ministry or other seconding authorities in their home country. The application is to be issued to the Folke Bernadotte Academy who will select the applicants that are nominated for the post, the nominee is then put forward to the OSCE Secretariat and will be considered in an open competition with other applicants from other OSCE participating States. The OSCE makes the decision about who to employ, and the Folke Bernadotte Academy provides the salary and other benefits.

Vacancies within the OSCE Secretariat, the Field Missions and the Institutions are issued by OSCE and posted on the OSCE webpage. Each vacancy specifies the qualifications required.
