Certificate of Appreciation to Sweden

On 6 September 2019, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the Republic of Serbia, Mr Nebojsa Stefanovic, presented Mr Ola Andersson, the Counsellor at the Embassy of Sweden in Belgrade, with a Certificate of Appreciation for successful cooperation in the last year.

Minister Stefanovic highlighted the importance of Swedish support and the excellent cooperation that has been established between Sweden and Serbia that has enabled very important developments and improvements in the way the Serbian Police performs its tasks.

The Certificate of Appreciation was also been presented to Mr Mats Berggren, the Police Commissioner and Senior Police Advisor on the Swedish-Serbian Assistance Police program.

he Certificate is the recognition of the support that Sweden has provided to police reform in Serbia since 2004 in a number of areas, such as the reform of the Human Resources Management, capacities for strategic management and planning, gender equality, Crime Scene Investigations (CSI) and Intelligence-Led Policing (ILP). The most important result of this support is strengthened cooperation and partnership between the Serbian and the Swedish Police which has been formalized in the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of Sweden on Law Enforcement Cooperation, signed in Stockholm on 24 January 2017.

Once ratified by both parties, this agreement is expected to further facilitate the cooperation in operative matters.
