On the 18th of April senior health officials from Singapore and Sweden came together at Duke-NUS Medical School for a Dialogue on the topic of ‘Accelerating Health and Healthcare Transformation’. The dialogue provided a platform to discuss and share key learnings and new care models in patient-centric and value-based care, with the objective of meeting the needs of our respective populations and delivering world class healthcare in a sustainable manner.
Organized by the Embassy of Sweden, Business Sweden - the Swedish Trade and Invest Council - and AstraZeneca and co-hosted by Professor Tan Chorh Chuan, Executive Director of the Ministry of Health’s Office of Healthcare Transformation and Chief Health Scientist, the dialogue brought together key representatives from Singapore and Sweden. Participants included the CEO’s from Singapore’s three health clusters, the Group Chief for the Agency of Integrated Care (AIC) and the CEO of the Health Promotion Board (HPB).
From the Swedish side, experts from the Swedish healthcare system including the National Board of Health and Welfare, the Region of Jönköping County, the Region Västra Götaland County, the Karolinska Institutet and the Karolinska University Hospital participated in the dialogue.
The program was split into three sessions, with the topics “Beyond Hospital to Community”, “Beyond healthcare to health” and “Beyond quality to value”. The Dialogue was preceded by two days of individual health cluster workshops and in-depth sharing of experiences.
During the visit, Swedish ambassador Håkan Jevrell held a reception at the Swedish residence.
