On December 2 the Swedish Lucia tradition made its way to the beautiful Flower Dome. In a unique collaboration with Gardens by the Bay the Swedish Lucia Choir, under conductor Annelie Nikou, was invited to perform as part of the Nordic Christmas Fair.
It was an almost magical experience to hear the beautiful Lucia and Christmas corals fill the Dome against a backdrop of tropical greenery! The visitors were also treated to Swedish mulled wine (glogg) and ginger thins!
The Nordic Christmas Fair featured an amazing display of no less than 30 variations of the Poinsettia. The Flower Dome also housed miniature landmarks from the Nordic countries representing different Christmas traditions. Sweden was represented by the “Triangeln” train station in Malmö – portraying a post office for the handling of Christmas gifts.
