On January 19-21 2020, the annual IISS Fullerton Forum was held in Singapore. Known as the “Sherpa” meeting to the Shangri La Dialogue the Fullerton Forum focuses on the regional security agenda.
This time around the challenges of missile proliferation and missile defence in Asia, the protection of maritime interests and freedoms, the policy implications of new technologies of conflict and the development of inclusive regional security arrangements were at the centre of the conversations. Sweden was represented by Vice Admiral Jonas Haggren, Chief of Defence Staff at the Swedish Armed Forces. The Embassy also hosted a dinner at the Swedish Residence with representatives of DSTA and a number of prominent Singapore based think-tankers/security policy experts.
