On September 21st, to mark World Cleanup Day, members of the various Team Sweden organizations in Singapore joined a local cleanup activity organized by the NGO “The Kindred Community”.
The cleanup took place in Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s Constituency in Ang Mo Kio. Similar events were held in more than 10 other locations across Singapore.
World Clean-up Day is the largest single peacetime civic action against waste, aimed at raising awareness of the scale of the global mismanaged waste crisis threatening the environment and the lives of millions of people and living beings. An estimated 20 million people in 179 countries and territories joined cleanups at beaches, streets, forests and parks in a global effort to clean up waste from public spaces and nature.
