“Sweden – Republic of Korea 60 Years Logo Design Contest” kicked off a full year of Anniversary celebration in 2019

The Embassy of Sweden in Seoul and the Embassy of Republic of Korea in Stockholm announced Ara Jo as the winner of “Sweden-Korea 60 Years Logo Design Competition”. The President of the Visual Information of Design Association of Korea explained that Jo delivered the message of 60 years of Swedish Korean relations in a simple and distinct way.

Swedish Ambassador to Korea Jakob Hallgren said: "I really like the playfulness of the Logo. It represents key features of the Sweden-Korea relationship: innovation and friendship" The Ambassador continued: "The launch of the common logo is a great start of our joint celebration during 2019. Follow us on Social media to find out what we are up to!"

Sweden and the Republic of Korea have developed strong ties in various fields since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1959. To celebrate the 60 years of relations next year, Sweden and the Republic of Korea co-hosted the logo design competition as a kick-off and the contest ended with 200 entries.

Ambassador Jakob Hallgren continued: "The Anniversary Year provides an excellent opportunity to draw attention to our strong and beautiful common history, and deepen the collaboration between our two countries". Ambassador Hallgren asked: Did you know that Sweden and Korea are ranked as the two most innovative countries in the world? Even if we are far away geographically, there are so many similarities between our two countries".

The winning contestant will receive a round-trip flight tickets between Korea and Sweden, accommodation for five nights, and will also be invited to various events that will take place during 2019. The winning logo will be used as the official visual identity of all events and promotional materials to be used next year.

At least one event every month will take place during the Anniversary year of 2019. The Embassy of Sweden will work closely together with Korean and Swedish Partners and companies to organize a wide range of activities from culture to trade. The schedule of all events will be shared on the official homepage and social media outlets of the Swedish Embassy.
