The need for solidarity with the world’s displaced and stateless persons is more important than ever. A critical year of implementation of the Global Compact for Refugees lies ahead, highlighted UN High Commissioner for Grandi at the opening of UNHCR’s Pledging Conference 2018 – which this year gathered a record high 926 million US$ million USD. Sweden pledged to remain an engaged and strategic partner to UNHCR, with 870 million SEK unearmarked for 2019, continued generous support to crises and appeals, and ongoing resettlement.
