Swedish and Zambian Dads to Lusaka

Photos and stories by fathers from two different countries.

Swedish Dads is a photo exhibition based on portraits of fathers who choose to stay home with their babies for at least six months. Swedish photographer Johan Bävman examines why these fathers have chosen to stay home with their children, what the experience has given them, and how their relationship with both their partners and their children has changed as a result.

In addition to the photos of Swedish Dads the exhibition will include photos of Zambian Dads in the Zambian context. It will portray a total of 38 fathers from our two countries. The exhibition aims to show the effects of gender equality in parenting on both individuals and society.

The exhibition will soon come to Zambia and will be showing at Lusaka National Museum, East Park Mall and University of Zambia beginning of 2019.

This exhibition is produced by the Swedish Institute (SI) in cooperation with the Embassy of Sweden in Lusaka, together with local partners.
