Political and Economic/Trade Affairs Officer (full-time position) in the Embassy of Sweden in Yerevan
Main position responsibilities
Monitor, research and analyse political and economic/trade developments in Armenia including human rights issues, Armenia’s relation to the EU, the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and the country’s reform process.
Draft background notes and contribute to the Embassy’s reporting.
Draft speaking notes for public events. Monitor Sweden-related media coverage.
Contribute to the Embassy’s Sweden-promotion and communication activities.
Liaise with the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs on strategic projects in Armenia and with the Swedish Institute on academic exchanges and alumni network.
Other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the Ambassador.
Eligibility requirements for position
University degree in Political Science, International Relations, Law, Economics or similar field.
Demonstrated capacity to conduct multi-discipline research and expertise in writing.
Excellent command of written and spoken English and Armenian. Knowledge of Swedish is highly desired though not compulsory.
Minimum three years relevant work experience, preferably in an international environment, such as an Embassy or an international organization.
Additional requested competencies
Effective communication skills and ability to communicate Swedish priorities and values.
Excellent analytical skills. The position further requires the holder to be structured, thorough, detail- and deadline-oriented and able to work independently.
Team-player displaying motivation, flexibility, adaptability, sound judgement and integrity.
